For this Tuesday Twosome, we are featuring our favorite living, fashion icon, who else but Victoria Beckham, and one of her adorable sons, second-born, Romeo James.  As Posh looks just-so, her partner-in-style keeps up and in stride with his fashion-forward mum.  The two of them make quite the statement in their business-savvy attire, Victoria in her smart, silhouetted, pencil skirt and button-down dress shirt, and Romeo in his perfect pinstripes, boyishly tousled waves, and those darling dimples.  Romeo resembles his mother the most out of his siblings and we’re sure he inherited those features from his lovely leading lady… if only she smiled more for the camera!  We cannot wait to see what modeling gigs this kid gets when he’s older; so far he’s the biggest clothes horse out of the expanding, British brood, but we’ll just have to wait and see what little Harper Seven brings to the table when she’s old enough to wear heels.  For now, Romeo does just fine holding his own on the red (sometimes caramel-colored) carpet!

“On Wednesdays we wear pink!” Karen of Mean Girls proclaims to the newest member of her clique.  Okay, we can buy into that… we just picked this dress because we love it, but considering pink is this editor’s second favorite color (can you tell black is #1?), we decided to make every Wednesday “Look-of-the-Day” a pink outfit for as long as we can.  Which will be interesting, because our co-editor tends to loathe the color…  Here, at husband David’s official signing with the LA Galaxy soccer team, Victoria Beckham is wearing a bright pink Roland Mouret “Moon” dress with a matching ostrich Hermes Birkin bag, accessorized with a pair of pointed-toe black pumps and her signature large shades.  She would do The Plastics proud, except this girl isn’t a mean one – she’s a Spicy one!

We could have just dedicated this whole week to Victoria Beckham and her boys, because they always look cute!  Here, Posh is wearing a bright yellow Goat Kendall sundress in the south of France, looking like a great complement to son, Romeo’s, bright orange Ralph Lauren polo.  She accessorized her look with platform nude stilettos and a Hermes Himalayan crocodile Birkin 35 handbag.  (Although, Romeo’s cute little stuffed lamb makes a nice accessory, too!).  This mom-and-son pair look fantastic for summer fun in the sun!

The Princess and the Posh

We here at theSkinnyStiletto were beyond excited when we heard that Victoria Beckham was one of the talents in the running to design Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.  As we’ve mentioned, the former Spice Girl is our favorite living style icon.  To have her outfit another fashion icon during an historical moment for their homeland would be, in a word, amazing.  “Apparently, she likes my clothes and has asked to see a selection,” the designer said at her New York Fashion Week show. “It’s tremendously exciting and I would be honored if she were to wear my designs.  I admire her tremendously.”  This juicy tidbit was released on February 14th (this editor’s birthday – who could ask for a better birthday present than to hear two beautiful Brits might collaborate on an ultimate fashion item?!)  Victoria has impeccable taste and has designed gowns for her own line, but to see an actual wedding dress created by the famed fashionista would make our hearts aflutter!  Who better to dress a royal than a pop princess anyway?  Posh even wore a crown on her own big day in 1999, pictured left.  Beckham stated that Kate is “a beautiful young girl.  She has a wonderful figure and I think she wears clothes beautifully.”  However, the latest news states that Beckham will just design some regal romps for the honeymoon.  Posh sent over samples of her Spring/Summer line and was very flattered to be considered to dress the future princess on her magical day.  Beckham and her world-famous husband, David, will be attending the nuptials, as well.  Even though we’d rather see Kate wearing a Posh gown on April 29th, seeing her wear some of the cute frocks pictured below on her honeymoon will be fun, too.   Middleton has taken some fashion advice from the former Spice Girl and now it’s concrete: Kate has wonderful taste!  But will we see Beckingham meet Buckingham on the big day?

4. Her favorite fashion icon of all time is our favorite fashion icon of all time (Audrey Hepburn, duh).

5. She’s mom to three adorable boys, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

6. She’ll soon be mum to a little girl!

7. Her sexy husband.

8. She’s down-to-earth and self-deprecating. (“My looks are incredibly ordinary… I just make the best of what I have.” – Posh)

9. She’s loyal. (Married for over ten years, and still remains very close with her fellow Spice Girls, as she’s godmother to Geri’s daughter.)

10. Her guide to fashion, That Extra Half-Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything In Between, is our favorite book on fashion.

11. She’s committed to her work.

12. She is one of very few celebrities that does NOT use a stylist.  (If not the only one…)

Victoria Beckham turns 37 today, and we thought it was apropos to choose an outfit that Posh designed herself.  Here is Victoria wearing her own dress called the Frejus, from her 2009 Spring/Summer Collection.  It’s described as a trompe l’oeil (wrong eye? or deceiving eye?) dress with a tie neck blouse and a fitted taffeta skirt.  It also has a satin rose metal zipper that delicately slides down the back.  Posh tops it off with her famous big black shades and platform heels.  This is our editors’ favorite dress from Victoria’s first line.  You can tell why it was reviewed positively; her clothing is simple, but extremely flattering to the female figure.  Happy Birthday Mrs. Beckham!
